About Us

St. Joseph’s School was blessed and inaugurated on 2nd April 1998 by Most Rev. Julius Marandi, Bishop of Dumka. It is established and managed by the Dumka Catholic Diocese, Dumka. It was resolved at the inaugural moment that the school would be a place where the student’s need are the centre of its educational philosophy, where excellence in study and dicipline is stressed and the overall social development of the children is carefully nurtured.

The School had its humble beginning in the already existing VTI and was staffed by Sisters of the Congregation of St. Joseph of the Apparition and of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (SABS) of Jagdalpur Province joined the Teaching Staff in January, 2000 and in 2001, Sisters of St. Anne, Chennai, Friends of Jesus Sister and Ursuline Sister of Tildonk also joined the same. The School is affiliated to C.I.S.C.E. New Delhi.
